Employment Law including Wrongful Dismissal

The rights of the employer and employee in a non-unionized environment have become increasingly complex.

While some of the rights and obligations of the employer and employee may be found in the Labour Standards Act, other rights and obligations are based upon rules that have developed in our court system over the years.

WRONGFUL DISMISSAL

Where employment is terminated, the employer and the employee may have concerns as to whether the dismissal is for just cause or is a wrongful dismissal. In the latter case, both the employer and the employee will want to know what a reasonable period of notice or monies in lieu of notice will be.
